Oh, soldered in ULA!
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Cap removed and tested, and it's dead. Very dead, and certainly not 470uF. I expect the juices evaporated a long time ago, so time to order a replacement, along with one for the cap sat next to it.

I'll have to take your word for it as I am new to these machines. Sounds good to me though :)

Certainly, others I've seen have a socketed ULA, which I've heard can be problematic.

Very simple little machine though.

Another power board issue. At least I can fix this without ordering components.

EDIT: Aaaand it's fixed :)

Not totally obvious from the picture, but the joint on the right hand side was also cracked. I did all 3 joints in the end just in case, but the one closest to the plug end did seem OK.

Still need to wait for the replacement caps though, fingers crossed that'll give me power back.

I'd have thought that you'd have a 470uF in stock as they're so ubiquitous.
