I ended up removing cops as Notator hates it. Then I later switched to NVDI 2.51 which plays nice with Notator after finding some freezes with NVDI 5.Steve wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:02 am Tone you're getting that 'wdialog needed' message because of the cops accessory. That is also an old version of cops - the latest cops does not even require wdialog.
grab the latest version:

Re: WDIALOG.PRG
i was thinking more of getting jinnee to work under mint with xaaes, i've tried runner.prg and jinnee.app from shell entry, both refuse to work. i'm thinking i either need wdialog or ndialog (latter being the cleaner one, but i think it's for naes only)
Re: WDIALOG.PRG
you don't need wdialog.prg if you are running XaAES as the same already provides wdialog functionality.
And remember: Beethoven wrote his first symphony in C.
Re: WDIALOG.PRG
COPS 1.09? Anyone? The links seems to be dead.

Re: WDIALOG.PRG
I couldn't get WDIALOG to autoload with Geneva no matter how I configured XBOOT.
While trying to decide whether to stick with NVDI 2.51, I compared 2.51 to 5.03 using GEMBench. It appears that 5.03 is a little slower than 2.51.

Re: WDIALOG.PRG
I do believe that 5 is a bit slower than 2.5 IIRC. Though if I remember rightly WARP9 is faster still, but has more compatibility problems.chronicthehedgehog wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 2:08 pm While trying to decide whether to stick with NVDI 2.51, I compared 2.51 to 5.03 using GEMBench. So it is plausible that version 5 is slower simply because it fixes potentially compatibility issues whereas 2.5 does not.

Interestingly NVDI 5.03 is the slowest of all of the NVDIs. Your mileage may depend on what resolution you use, but I did a little test here: https://sites.google.com/view/ataritosser/my-atari/nvdi

Re: WDIALOG.PRG
That would make sense - more bloat less speed
That's an interesting write-up. 3.02 sounds like a good all-rounder. Do you ever use SpeedoGDOS 5.7 with 3.02? I must admit to being a bit confused as to when/where it's needed. It seemed to play nicely with 2.51 and gave me a nice font in ST-guide. Beyond that I'm cluelessAtari74user wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 2:23 pm Interestingly NVDI 5.03 is the slowest of all of the NVDIs. It's fairly unlikely that I'll ever print anything directly from my ST, however it does feel like an itch that needs to be scratched as I never had a printer BITD.
