I know people always suggest it but would it be easier to start with using a clock which is a multiple of 8, so the slots as you put it are predictable between each original clock cycle?

p.s reading this thread has been very useful from a learning point of view.

Yes its easier, but on the STFM 32MHz clock isn't strong enough to use like it is on the STE. But also multiples of 8 dont seem to work. Has to be 8,16,32 for some reason. So the next step would be 64 which is to fast. Its why I need to use a dedicated osc 50mhz. The syncing of 50mhz isn't much of a problem, though the other chips are still running at 8mhz so it can cause timing issues.

Though like I said before, it can run GB6 all day without crashing. Though that is because I factored in all the needed timings for the slower 8mhz chips. But there is something else going on which I dont know about yet, so I cant factor that into the logic.

I don't exactly even have a LA... I do have USB one, but I already seem to spend more time fighting iffy software than doing anything. I have put in a request to TF for him to scope out stock timings exactly so I can see what they really are.. Most work I end up doing on my 2 channel scope  I keep toying with getting a 4 channel one, but can't really justify the expense for what it would get used for.

New PCB's arrived a few days ago. But due to intense man-flu, won't be any progress until next week.

Once I get this going, I can investigate these odd issues I have been seeing...

Yeah, It all got hacked about that much it ended in a bit of a mess. TerribleFire will probably be having palpitations about it....

Only 10. I can donate a board if anyone wants to build one up, but will need a Atmel programmer. I have no idea how long it will take to debug the odd faults though.

I would say yes but no atmel programmer yet and not sure how much help I would be in this case any way?

Count me in - I'm mad enough to play around with another board :)

Is the Atmel programmer the same as for the atmega328 etc? As I have one of those somewhere
