Case for VGA adapter (low cost version)

Post by Plagued »

While I love a well made circuit board on the inside I like to cover up on the outside. Just got exxos new vga adapter, great value.
Here's a case for it, there's a 10mm recess for audio so most leads should still fit. The two halfs should be friction fit but you could glue it if you like.
Should print fine at just about any layer height, but I did the first 1mm at 0.1 then went to 0.2 for the rest with 30% infill.

Sad to say the adapter I received didn't work with the case design.. it seems Mr Exxos decided to swap the jumpers from back to front.

I guess I can add that to the pile of things for my friend to be asked to solder for me (I'd probably kill it!)

Got the case 3D printed via CraftCloud in white PETG (stronger) and very impressed with result. Smooth and solid, unlike most PLA prints I have had before. Anyone know the Atari RAL code? ;) (Also got case for cheap ACSI SD/HD adapter and two Amiga A500 expansion slot covers. Rock solid!)

EDIT: RAL 7038 according to my bookmarks ;-)

Oh that sux. Someone else built the last batch up. Will have to see if others are like that as well later.

This is a doozy of a design.

Well played, @Plagued. Chapeau. :)

Mine looks better (printed in PETG) but I cannot assemble it cos of the pins being wrong side of PCB  But the 3D printer did an excellent job on case

They should relocate easily enough, shouldn't they?
