This project has been a bit stale due to time etc etc. but for some reason I seem to be ploughing through a lot of projects this week.

Today I had time to work on the top grill as the original scanned files were very wrong and as we have mentioned before.

So now we have created a grill panel that can be printed separately and fitted to the top part of the case. Also means we can have different versions of the grill if people want custom slots for different options. Just need to finish off the fixing point to snap in.

Amazing amount of work that has been put into this! It looks like the end result will be amazing as well! Thanks for spending your time on this!

Did a bit of rapid prototyping printing just to see how the grill looked. Not too bad just need to adjust the openings slightly and also have put in the supporting structures for the pillars. Dialling in my printer would have got a cleaner result but I just went for a quick and dirty print.

Render with pillars and supports. On the original case the diagonal support bars go from the back to 2/3 of the grill however extending them down across the whole grill gives more rigidity and helps with printing.

very nice. This peculiar grill is one of the key identifier of the ST family. When I stumbled on a picture of a custom case for the ultrasatan with this grill design, it just looked right.

Slow going but progress. Now to see if it continues overnight without any issues.

At the risk of going off topic... what are the chances @icky might consider making a case for the TFMSeX?
