Mine arrived today. I soldered some header pins on the USB connection points and connected a cable made from an old keyboard's USB cable. The menu system seems to be working fine, including programming with verify.
Tomorrow I'll dig up an A500 board and test if it is also working as an EPROM, but I have no doubts.
Thanks a lot Chris!

Received mine just before the weekend - got a chance to test it today
At first I used a long poor quality cable and had issues with USB3 and programming certain roms (diagrom). Switched to a much shorter better quality cable and all is good!
Not sure if you are still taking feature requests, but my other switcher "solution" is Keir's and it supports a buzzer which will sound a certain number of beeps depending on which slot is selected. Could you give the spare pin the ability to do that?
Great quality btw, loving it!

I'm completely struggling with cabling. My pc isnt anywhere near the bench so motherboard headers arent useful.
basically i cant use it without some kind of cable to program it with.

Motherboard headers would be fine for installing in a computer case then a long A-A cable.terriblefire wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 2:10 pm I'm completely struggling with cabling. My pc isnt anywhere near the bench so motherboard headers arent useful.

I use a standard USB micro cable and a cheap adapter - either solder them on or with pins.

Maybe a USB repeater cable can help you, something like this:terriblefire wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 2:10 pm I'm completely struggling with cabling. My pc isnt anywhere near the bench so motherboard headers arent useful.

Royal Mail increased their prices by around 8% so new postage rates from:
£2.25 UK, £4.20 Europe, £4.90 World 1, £5.10 World 2 (sorry Oz )
Tracked is normally an option but not right now because my local Post Office is closed until further notice.
I'll put stuff in the post box if I go out for shopping but no trips out otherwise until the government relaxes the CV19 rules, sorry.

Just tested the io gear usb extenders with a 25 ft cable on the eprom-emulator and they worked flawlessly.terriblefire wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 2:10 pm I'm completely struggling with cabling. My pc isnt anywhere near the bench so motherboard headers arent useful.

Good to know. I have a 5m USB3 extension here and I found that many of my USB peripherals (JTAG programmers and the like) refuse to work with it. Circa 5m is the limit for USB2 spec because of propogation delay IIRC.
