It's bad when you can buy a whole computer for spares cheaper than one chip! I wanted a spare 1772 myself but they are too expensive at the mo.

Yeah, chips are getting really expensive. I am trying to source as many as I can this week to buy like 100 of each before prices get any worse. Even so chip prices in my store are going to be jumping up in the near future, its just un-avoidable

All the more reason for your FPGA direction to replace each chip.

Icky, blisters are pretty had to find.. it looks like a another machine or BEST. I don't have the patience to try places that most likely don't have the chips and then advertise them. Sometimes getting your money back can be a time consuming pain in the as#! I'm going to order a glitter from best to replace the one I took out of the mega.

Yes, that one way.. Another way as Jon Whiteside can attest to is picking up the business end of a soldering iron.

Ouch - Thats not good, you can only imagine the pain.

In all the time I was building the STF the only time I burnt my finger was trying to install the Floppy Un-f*ck board.
