Hi Kodak,

I had a problem accessing the floppy at first. Mine was due to soldering the power pins too quickly on the 1772, so that it didn't ground properly. Might be worth a try?
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

External floppy board has no effect on anything ...

Worth resoldering the power pins to the chip.. Will take more heat due to the whole copper areas connected to them.

Have not had time to work on my two boards recently so no real change for me except that I now have the extra 3M PLCC sockets and 2 blitter chips from Best arrived today. Will see if I can spend time this weekend to get these fitted. :)

Board 1 continues to be a problem child. It now has a blitter fitted but it now shows a long row of bombs on a white screen. Will need to find some time to diagnose and may put this board on-hold for now as I am very busy at work.

Board 2 (my fully working board) now has a working blitter. :D

Small update, Board #1 is now alive again after re-soldering the NO BLITTER jumpers and removing the Bliiter chip. So it is back to booting TOS but not seeing the floppy. I have also tried re-soldering the WD1772 but this did not help.

I tried removing the NO BLITTER jumper solder a 2nd time and got a black screen on boot so re-soldered the jumpers and went back to booting TOS.

Great news it boots. One more is born.

May be the blitter socket is either not contacting correctly on the pins (these sockets are evil as Exxos says) or the soldering needs another going over to make sure.

Have you tried swapping the WD1772 from the working one to see if its the chip that's not working?

Glitter jumpers have to be soldered when not using the glitter. Its messing with the cpu bus grant stuff, so likely won't boot if not setup correctly.

I would check you have done all the mods relating to the 1772,mfp and have you got the pull ups on the 1772 buffers ?
