i will give 95288XL a go. Assume, it's not difficult to recompile Your existing FW to it

Actually dont bother. I just realized that the data bus is only 8 bits to the CPLD. So I cant man in the middle Paula writes. Would need someone to write a serial port driver.

Great news! I've been lurking watching developments for a while. I'd been looking at the 328, but decided to wait given how close the 330 is. Unfortunately my soldering skills I think are not up to building from a bare board. Is anybody planning to build complete versions for sale?

Yes I and others will definitely assemble the TF330 :)
