Re: TF CD32 Riser Revision 2 Design Complete
I've screwed something up with the video output on this. I need to understand what though... This was an experiment so ... dunno...
My circuit is tapping the video at AR_EXT, AG_EXT and AB_EXT... not the usual locations. The thinking was that this should always be the mixed video signal. But all i see is a blank screen.

Yes, that is because this is the video that is coming from the FMV card (INPUT).
The _EXT_VIDEO signal closes the U36 when FMV card is attached (INPUT).
That is why I mentioned in an earlier post to replicate the circuit to get it to work.

No. The FMV Card opens this when its attached. It then mixes the Amiga video with its own and returns a video signal back to the encoder. Basically A*_EXT is the raw pins of the video encoder chip.
The issue is the damn boardhouse put a 24K resistor instead of a 24R9... F*ckers.
That signal isnt coming from the FMV card (well it might be) but its *always* the mixed signal. I measured it with the scope..

Wow!
Hope that capacitor values wasn't mixed up and are just like these needed to be..

And after a hell off a struggle because i put the resistors too close to the DB23 ...

Now that is satisfaction after all the hard effort put in.
Sitting on the sofa controlling the CD32 wireless with a rocking 060 is getting a step closer.
Hopefully one of those all-in-one micro keyboard/mouse things popular with Raspberry Pi's will work. Handy for lazy time watching demos when you only need basic control.

I'm really hoping something like this will work on one usb port and a usb mouse keyboard combo on the other.

The dongle looks nice and small.
The 8bit Do adapters are large. And would stick out a lot.
I have a small dongle (no laughing at the back) that I use with Raspberry Pi for PS3 pads.
Also have a XBOX360 wireless adapter but that is Zippo lighter sized hanging off a USB lead (although controllers are pretty good).
I can't play SWOS/Sensible Soccer using a dpad, but analogue sticks are ok.
Would you be thinking of say mapping PS3 controls to replicate CD32 pad? I have a PS2 controller adapter to Dtype for my CD32 as it came with no pad (or psu!).
