Yes.

Yes.
rubber_jonnie wrote: Thu Mar 26, 2020 1:36 pm Also, I presume that even with the IDE board fitted, you cannot use TOS 2.06 from the H4 socket, it has to be in the IDE board?
No. If you use a jumper wire from the IDE ROM CS line as in my guide, you can use that on the jumper on the H4 above the SMT GLUE.. Remove the linka and put the IDE ROM CS wire to the left pin.

While its possible to do that, I don't think there is any real benefit to it, I just noticed it as someone would bound to ask how to do it.

@exxos Ahh, cool I may look at that, must have missed it in the guide, have not been sleeping well this week, so not at my best for paying attention!

Same here :( a hour a night at best. I saw you on the forum at like 3am a couple days ago as well. I'm laid up with a cold (well assume so) my brain power is zero right now :(

@exxos Yeah, really tired, but also WFH so at least I have money and don't need to travel! Just hate being so tired and fuzzy :(

On a positive note, I don't have any symptoms so I'll take the win.

Hmm, so HDD connected, but not booting. HDDRIVER sees the interface, but no drive, so I think I have a cable problem. TBH, the cable seens dodgy, and I'm not 100% sure about the ACSI pin 10 connection as I put it all together fairly hurredly cable wise.

Trouble is, I can't find my spare 44 Pin IDE cable, so ar present I'm seriously considering raiding my A1200's cable for testing purposes. Gaaahhhh, why can't you find cables you know you have when you need them!!

RubberJ.. its the same pin as the v 1.0 IDE. See picture.

You can never find stuff you know you have until there's no need.

@PaulJ Yeah, I know where to connect it, I just did it in a hurry and may not have made a good job of it 😁

@PaulJ Ok, so I had it right, nothing to do with the IRQ line to the ACSI port, though I have now moved this to the internal header instead, it's much neater.

The culprit was as I had thought the IDE cable or crappy adapter I had to use as I couldn't find my spare 44 Pin cable. Also, the reason I couldn't find it in the first place was 'cause I'd used it in the Amiga when I added a CD drive last year!!

:dizzy:

So I raided one from my A1200,and voila, everything worked first time:

Everything ran just fine, either TOS 1.04 or TOS 2.06, copying from FDD and HDD and vice versa, so now have some more 44 pin IDE cables on the way. Hoping the other 88 pin PLCC socket turns up soon, not sure why they ony sent one :(

In the meantime I can move onto the Mega ST IDE interfaces, which need the GALs programming and one resistor, so nearly there too.
