Finally got one of these dev boards made up. Just need to build the other one up for exxos and then we can start looking at testing the Flash ROM and RTC.

Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
None of us have any idea what we are doing
I have somewhere what looks to be the source for the monster flash tool, so that may be of use to get started, but its not the same chip so the command sequences are going to be diffenrent.
The RTC should be easy, needs a proper tool as well though. I will peek and poke at it in stos first to see if I can get a register dump and set the time etc

Hist wondering, is there enough space on top to plug in the IDE interface.....
Or do we need to start stacking sockets...

Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
Not really sure what you are asking... If your talking about plugging both boards in at the same time, we are not going down that avenue yet, too much trouble trying to do to development 2 boards at the same time...Better just to concentrate on one at a time...rubber_jonnie wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 10:18 am Hist wondering, is there enough space on top to plug in the IDE interface.....

OK so to get the ball rolling here is the data sheet of the Flash chips we are using. http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/D ... 05022C.pdfexxos wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 9:00 amNone of us have any idea what we are doing

Out of the two flash chips we have on the board one is on the High byte [D8-D15] and the other on the Low byte [D0-D7] parts of the data bus.
CE is currently tied to GND
OE and WE will be controllable through the PLD on the board via an address
Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
The chip (like others) are a bit of a PITA to program as you have to "write" a command sequence first
