Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
Ok, will give it a watch. Plugged it all in and once I remove the board roms it wont boot.
Edit, ok, next time I have to read the instructions, just needed to set the enable jumper

If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
We have a patch for the Flashy Clock DEV board for those out there with the board. When we got it up and running initially we had few hard wires but have moved these back into firmware.
Before doing this patch make sure you have an ATF15xx programmer to program the new firmware in.
Remove patch wire - this removes the AS hard wire line and splits it between the ST and CPU back through the PLD:
Cut track on DTACK line cut marked in yellow. On my board this was slightly under a CPU DIL support but I was able to use a small knife to cut the track. This splits the the DTACK between the ST and CPU.
The DTACK CPU line is connected to the PLD but a new DTACK line is needed from the ST side to the PLD. Solder a wire in as shown long enough to thread round to the back of the board:
Thread the wire on to the back of the board. I used the header pins to hold and guide the wire up to the PLD and soldered on to the 4th pin down on the centre of the board:
Once you have all these fixes in place you need to program the PLD with the firmware file:

Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
Will try and get ot done the next couple of days m

Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
Are there a noticeable changes after the jumper change and programming? Programmer scheduled for arrival today so should be able to burn new firmware.
Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
It allows flash 104 to boot with the motherboard ROMs still in place. As currently glue will decode 104 space with the flash ROM decoder . so the fix isolates the glue from decoding the address.

Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
I received the programmer and have a couple questions. First it has three possible outputs, twi, jtag-A, and jtag-X. I'm assuming I should use the tag-A since it matches the supplied cable and connector on the board.
Second question is do i need to power the Atari when I program the device or can I just let JTAG power the device?
thanks.
Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board
Yes JTAG-A and you will need to power up the ST. Here is mine in situ.PaulJ wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:08 pm I received the programmer and have a couple questions. When using the software for the chips you guys have please use the ATF1508ASV as the Device and do an Erase first then a Program / Verify with the JED file.
Exxos did a video of using the software a while back
