DS1315 clock chip equivalents?

Post by PhilC »

Just wondering if there are any equivalents for the DS1315 clock chip as it's about £11 to buy each.

If it's for the Mongrel board, it is not a mandatory item AFAIK, it can be bypassed with a jumper.

When I was doing the clock board https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/store2/#0166 they were about the only Y2K complaint to the old DSequivalent I could find to the DS1215 that was on the original ForgetMeClock II.

I couldn't find anything much cheaper though.

Or you can order a free sample from one of the manufacturers like MAXIM Integrated. In this page there is a "SAMPLE" button to made the order.

https://www.maximintegrated.com/en/prod ... S1315.html

I did, and to my disbelief four DS1315 chips arrived my home in record time through DHL without paying absolutely nothing.

Just saying...

It's fine until people start abusing the free samples. I think it was microchip who refuse to ship samples to UK anymore as people were just selling stuff on evilbay. I used to use a lot of microchip stuff. But now I can't get samples.. I tend to not favour them anymore.
