What's wrong with it? I have the X-surf 100 version and it works great.

What's wrong with it? I have the X-surf 100 version and it works great.
Its very processor intensive and it can only trigger a very high level interrupt. Cant trigger an INT2. Oh and its only 8 bits wide.

And it seems to be half assed ATA/IDE signal wise.

Failure rate reaches 90% on them.. Have heard a lot of complaints from users regarding this hardware, also saw a discussion here:

Using Subway on A500 and A1200 for about three years, never got an issue, it just works like it should..

Yeah. Last version supported 128/256 but I never tried the chips
