Chinese 060 Sockets any good?

Post by pipper »

Would these sockets work with future TF1260 cards?
I noticed they don't seem to have a breakout in the middle, so I wonder if that will be a hindrence?

I've bought 2 of these, and they are great built. Highly recommended.
Now I'm eagerly awaiting for both the TF1260 and TF360 to get released into the wild ;)

Yea, this is the same distributor (IC-China) that I obtain 68030 sockets (13 x 13 matrix) from, I have use about half a dozen of them, and never had a problem with their 68030 socket, so hopefully the 060 socket will be just as hardy :)

On another note, does anyone know where to find a PGA "pulling tool" (the one that looks like a fork with many teeth, to lever PGA chips off the socket)?
The usual sources don't seem to come up with the right thing - or I'm looking for the wrong term.

Thanks!

Hi pipper, managed to pick-up a couple of PGA removal tools from a seller on amibay, ajk from Finland if I remember correctly, that was about 2 years ago so I do not know if they are still available.

Seconded. I'm tired of nicking my PGA sockets with screwdrivers! But every time I've searched for a proper PGA puller, I've come up empty.
