Don't want to clog up this thread but I just put an LC 060 in my TF1260 and CPUSPEED crashes with my system so I must have the earlier CPUSPEED version

** Update

Now changed the CPUSPEED to NO FPU version and it works fine on my 060 LC so it looks like you just have the wrong version Gadget

I cannot test booting from that card - I dont have a CF card large enough to write the image. But, I tested cpuspeed from that CF card image and it doesn't work either. So, the problem is either the 3.1 vanilla builds (plus MMULib and the 060 lib that comes with it), or my 1200.

EDIT: Unless there's a chance something on my TF1260 could cause it to crash?

The crash is too specific for it to be a hardware issue.

My bet is you have another cpuspeed in your path like in C:CPUSPEED or something

If I type cpuspeed at the shell (when not in the folder) - it doesnt find the executable though!

Is it possible that this CPU is one of the ones where the FPU failed at factory, they blew a fuse to set the ID to LC, yet if code "probes" the FPU registers instead of looking for the ID, it might think there's an FPU?

The only clue towards this idea is Stephen saying its too specfic to be a board problem, and in SysInfo it says it has and 060 FPU (Every other benchmark prog shows there isnt an FPU and its LC).

Also I know sysinfo is pants but try this later version 4.3, I ran it on my TF1260 and it says there is no FPU so see it does the same for you

Thanks, that version detects there is no FPU correctly! It crashes on Speed Test though on the LC! I just dont get it. If the cpuspeed exe has no dependencies, and its a fresh 3.1 install, with KS3.1, the correct MMULibs are installed, MuFastROM is enabled.

The only thing it leaves is timing fixes - but I dont see how that could be the issue since everything I run on it is rock solid stable. The 1200 is a rev 2B.

Yeah I was going to suggest that if the two caps E123C and E125C are there they are to be removed anyway as these can cause Accelerator timing crashes it did on my A1200 when I had the ACA1230 it would not run till I removed them

To check that the issues are not speed switch related just call cpuspeed with no options
