Few and far in between. For example Photogenics can load images in fast ram, so it can take advantage of it. Mac emulators, also the PC-task emulator can use it for cache to speed up dynamic emulation.

Once we switch to 060, there's the Quake II port :)

But generally absolutely no reason to go past 64 MB.

8 Bit Dreams wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2019 10:46 pm Well.. seems that china suppliers are slowly running out of 40Mhz cpus. All mine, Alens and Marks CPU batches are marked as Freescale and have one build date. Seems clearly as a reprinted fake to me. Have tried three different suppliers - always getting same shit...i don't care if it works...but only 50% of them running @50Mhz... :?
Those reprinted CPUs are absolutely horrible. I had a batch of about 60% of them that refused to work. Reprinted crap. It's almost a good thing that nobody wants the 330s anymore so i don't have to worry about these things :D

Anyway, on the 536 using an EC variant is not a good idea since the Fastrom option is a must have. Doesn't really matter on the CD32 but the 500 gains a massive speedup from it.

LoL I hope you are wrong on that one as I have big stock for them PMSL

The reason why there's no demand is that supaduper has cornered the market and bought up all the decent CPUs!

I think that's there's still potentially loads of demand for the 330, It's pretty much perfect for the CD32 and makes it into a fantastic machine, adequate for most users needs, can be handled by standard ageing PSU, doesn't need any active cooling etc. At the risk of getting banned by the moderator I think an 060 variant is perhaps overkill and will have limited niche appeal but would love to be proved wrong and I'm looking forward to it all the same! :)

As Exxos has pointed out here on a number of occasions, the 060 market is also rife with fake/reprinted CPUs so that problem won't magically go away, only this time the loss on each faulty CPU will be about X4 what it is on the 030s.

Will be interesting to see how it all plays out!

Got my betatest TD536 board yesterday, left all aside and built it - works stable, but my ide is quite slow only 1.3MB/s
Downloaded MMULibs from Aminet, installed it, but it does opposite to what it should muFASTROM is active but now i getting 730kb/s... typing CPU FASTROM on clean WB does boost IDE speed to 6.5MB/s so don't know what is going on here...

I think the time it's taken to go from 'first board' to you getting yours running as a beta tester is pretty amazing.

We discussed on stream if I should get a TF536 PCB to test with the A600 adapter, but as Viktor already have a TF536 and an A600 adapter he could probably test it as well as I could. If it doesn't work I don't have access to a logic analyzer, so I don't think I would be able to sort out why. Then we would be in the same "remote troubleshooting" situation as with Edu's A1200 board. The most logical solution if it doesn't work would probably be to send you an adapter instead. If you've got access to an A600. And if you're interested. And if you've got the time :)

I'd be interested in buying a bunch of TF536 boards once they go public, though :)

Yeah, A600 and A1000 tests are on my list already,
Was just too excited to test new card on this naughty lady (CDTV)

Steve done massive work, we have boot and CD gets actually recognised, the only thing to do - is to solve DMAC problem, and Steve already has some ideas, so stay tuned, and stay grounded

No worries. The CDTV is way cooler than an A600 :)

Status: This board works perfectly for me and 8 Bit Dreams. However AlenPPC had issues with it and its release is delayed until we figure it out.
