The CF card setup works in WinUAE and elsewhere. I was thinking my CF card is incompatible, I will test it in my A1200 tonight.

I've got other Amiga models with FPU, 060, Vampire, Blizzard and so on. I just want the most impressive piece of software also to work on my A2500. About Amiga, please don't ask me 'why', most of this hobby is very questionable for others I know.

IMHO if you want to use these programs a TF card is the wrong option. Get Vampire or Apollo. The external FPU on the 030 is rubbish anyway.
Problems: CF card in IDE port is only recognized as CF0 or something like that in Kick 3.1 early boot menu, and want auto mount or consequencly auto boot. If I type in 'version scsi.device', the partitions seems to be activated and mounted and I can access them, partitions also shows up in HDToolbox.
Have you tried your card in WinUAE and got the same result? This is likely a software issue.

The more impressive the more it costs. This is pretty much distilled down to what people will need to keep the price low.

EDIT: My experience is that people dont really use these apps. they play with them for a few mins and get a warm feeling that they can. And really i dont feel like busting my chops for that.

The A1200 IDE is more compatible with CF cards, so just because this one works on the 1200, it doesn't mean it will be fine on the TF. For example, I have discovered that some cards that are not recognized on the TF need the partition to be offset a bit beyond the first and a bit before the last blocks, and that way they will work on the TF.

I can reproduce this on all the TF accelerators, starting from the 328.

Regardless of this, I have never heard of the issue you are having but I used to have something similar with my A4000 and OS3.9 in the 90s, but it was purely software related.

Any chance you can tell me your A2000 mobo revision, so I can't see if there is a pattern to the card seemingly not working on the rev6?

AlenPPC, I should have a TF536 arriving from you this week into Western Australia. I have a Rev6 A2000 with Kipper2K cpu slot adaptor. I'll be able to give feedback on the TF536 and A2K Rev6 once it arrives, but I have a feeling that these issues so far are user issues...

Ive tested four rev.2 TF536 before i wrote my report.. Well maybe im just not lucky...

In mean time ive swapped out 4k7 RNs i used to 2k2, getting no yellow screen anymore, rainbow bars apper each time i switch A2k on, but no boot from ide...
Will try to remove them today and see what happens, as far i know that's the only difference (and the IDE buffers of course) to rev.1...

As soon as my RAM arrives (hopefully today or tomorrow), I will test with the 2 x rev 6 boards I have and rev 4.

is it possible that plugging in the TF536 into a CPU slot adapter is causing damage / popping something first, which then means when its plugged into the actual CPU socket, it is never going to work?

I received my TF536 today and Im considering just plugging it directly into the CPU socket for fear the above may have some credibility to it?

My current configuration : Amiga 2000, Rev 6.2 motherboard. 2MB megachip-clone chipmem expansion. TF534 in Kipper2K CPU slot adaptor. A2091. Nil problems

Changed out TF534 for TF536 into Kipper2K CPU slot adaptor. Flashy screen, then black screen and nothing further.

Installed TF536 into CPU socket directly. Flashy screen, then green screen. Whilst on green screen, power light cycled high/low/high/low for 15-20 secs, then machine reset and cycle begins again.

Removed 2MB chipmem upgrade and installed 1MB Agnus. This gave flashy screen, then black screen and nothing further. I did note that after 3-4 seconds, the power light dimmed. After 15-20 seconds, the machine reset and went through this cycle again.

I didn't remove the A2091, I figured what I am experiencing is consistent with other reports.

I then installed the TF536 into my A500 which has 1mb chipmem. Boots perfect, and currently doing a memory test using "Analyser" software.
