ISSI IS42S16320F-6TL works fine on the TF360, although this is a 16x32 capacity (128 MB) and also it's not really cheaper than the others at all. But it is an alternative.

With regards to IDE buffering - I see foot print for 3 ICs there, 2 for the databus - assumed SN74CB3T3245PWR go in those two spots, and resistor arrays removed from underside of the PCB? There's also a 3rd spot under the 68000 pin header, does that need a SN74CB3T3245PWR fitting there too, or will just the 2 for the databus be sufficient?

Might be an idea to "Sticky" this thread too btw.

Only winbond W9825G6KH-5 200MHz don't want to work with TF536 card
Keep them for Matzes 4060TK ;)

Hi Gadget,

I think you are mistaking the IC part numbers for the level shifters and the IDE buffers.

IDE buffers IC4, IC5 and IC6 should be 74VHC245PW as per the BOM tf536_full.csv here :

viewtopic.php?f=76&t=2728#p38246

All three need to be populated and the 6 corresponding resistor networks removed from the underside of the board as far as I am aware.

Also, I don't think eXXos can do stickies.

Thanks, is that these from the BOM? https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/8962622/

No sure if those are equivalent without comparing the data sheets:

I ordered the Nexperia versions from Digikey.

Maybe someone else who has looked into it can recommend a suitable alternative from RS or Farnell.

Thanks! Those are on the BOM so they must be the correct part!

Hi

I thought buffered IDE is always better than unbuffered, so why so many wants unbuffered?

Adding some 74VHC245PW to IC4, IC5 and IC6 and removing some SMD resistor networks is no problem, but it would be nice to know the benefits of each option (Buffered and Ubuffered) before ordering other parts. Almost all pictures of Googled TF536 are are Unbuffered (no IC4, IC5 and IC6). Only one found as buffered.

Also half of the Googled TF536 pictures are without JTAG1 connector and that makes me wonder how do those people program Xilinx?

@Hanzu Can you please not link to external sites and upload examples directly to the forum thanks.

@exxos Yes I can. External sites edited away.

There is an error on TerribleFire TF53x Accelerator Cards - BoM Spreadsheet row 10 column 8 says "IC CPLD 72MC 10NS 64VQFP" and if you go to Digikey link for example you notice it is "IC CPLD 288MC 10NS 144TQFP"

64 pins compared to 144 pins.
