To reassemble the ROM, refer to "SECOND ISSUE" in my post here for instructions: https://exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic ... =10#p28503terriblefire wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 3:24 pm If you guys wait a bit i have been studying the CDTV driver and i'll be able to fix it eventually.
What i really need is a way to reassemble a CDTV extended rom with a replacement cdtv.device so i can get to testing. If someone could find a way to do that (preferably with amitools) i'd would get me further forward. Thats where i stalled last time.
My problem is I don't have a CDTV I think I've narrowed down the A570 issue to a DMA timing issue - (ignore the "FIRST ISSUE" in my post as I was/am still learning )

Romool from amitools https://github.com/cnvogelg/amitoolsI recompiled the ROM as follows using romtool and byteswapped the image using Keir's kickconv for my programmer
Kickconv from Keir's git https://github.com/keirf/Amiga-Stuff/tr ... host_tools
You are really making miracles Stephen. It is just not this, but accelerators and specially this https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =65&t=2828

Ok I’m planning to setup a UAE to mimick a CDTV and report all DMA transfers... I’ll then work on the driver until it works. It’ll be an evening sort of task

Re: CDTV Relocator for the TF536
I received some functional ST M27C1000 EPROMS this week ( The type suitable for the CDTV extended ROMs) so can test any extended ROM modifications here as required.
The chips I ordered arrived quickly and all seem fine/genuine ST, I'm not sure about the speed rating but they seem OK so far:
eBay item number: 282219435445
As discussed in the other CDTV threads, the TL866 programmer requires these M27C1000s to be pin swapped (2 and 24) and flashed as M27C1001s, which is disappointing.
I have designed and and ordered a pin swap ZIF adapter for the TL866 ( or any other programmer that only supports 1001s) to allow these M27C1000s to be flashed easily without the need for any pin bending etc as these chips seem to have the best availability/price ratio at the moment.
I will post the Gerbers once I've verified that this adapter works.

@go0se I have TL866 prommer and this kind of adapter to it https://www.ebay.com/itm/27C160-27C800- ... 3830785850
Sorry to ask stupid question, would it do the trick? Though I would be happy to buy already prommed roms.

Re: CDTV Relocator for the TF536
Unfortunately that standard 400/800 EPROM adapter won't handle the pin swap for the M27C1000 / M27C1001s as far as I'm aware. I looked into adding the M27C1000 / M27C1001 functionality into the open source design for a similar adapter but it would have required extensive changes to make it work from the existing design.utri007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 10:18 pm @go0se I have TL866 prommer and this kind of adapter to it https://www.ebay.com/itm/27C160-27C800- ... 3830785850

The adapter shown above is very simple and only requires a 32pin ZIF socket and two rows of 16X2.54mm pitch pins in addition to the PCB. It should be able to be built for ~ €4 total.
If you only need to program the M27C1000s once you can pre heat then gently bend pins 2 and 24 out of the way and swap them over using taped wires directly in the TL866 but this is not a viable solution if you need to program multiple chips, or the same chips multiple times.
Re: CDTV Relocator for the TF536
Also, I have ordered 10 of these PCBs and only require 2 or possibly 3, so, should they work, anyone who wants one can have it for the price of postage to wherever you are -
Provided you can supply your own 2 X 16 X 2.54mm headers and 32 position ZIF socket.
Some cheap fake 3M ZIFs that should do the job can be found here :

@8 Bit Dreams none of these are for kickstarts. They are certain types of eproms. Adapter I have is for 27C160 27C800 27C400 and now needed is 27C1000
