Thanks, it could be possible to bodge them in with a adapter pcb or something I guess...
Yep, that was my thinking. Would need some right-angle pins and maybe a 3D printed plastic block to have the pins go through with a couple of square nuts on either side to mount the hex nuts.

Maybe the right-angle pins would be enough on their own. The plastic may only be needed to mount the nuts on each end.

So as thats not a proper connector, if a 25way DB25 for example was done, it could still plug into it... and it would allow Ultrasatan to be used on a 25way connector... would have to be careful about if it was inserted incorrectly though...

Doesn't solve old DMA drives, but I guess there is less need for adapter cables for old drives to be used on the new MB... But cables could still be made.

If we went to a 25 way we would be back again, as you righty say, adaptor cables. Its a bit chicken and egg this trying to preserve 100% compatibility :(

Lotharek has DB19 plugs in his store, maybe worth a shot asking him?

We can get the plugs no problem.. we need pcb mount sockets...

Yes I know. As far as I know, he had these ACSI plugs made, like he had the Atari SIO plugs made. Maybe it is possible to offload the making of pcb mount sockets to him?

Have a look at this post...

Oh I see, probably Lotharek was part of that group buy...
But he had the SIO plugs made: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/206363 ... ari-plugs/

Admittedly these are much simpler than the pcb mount sockets, so just ignore my rambling ;)

I had not seen that... Looks like the costs are too high though :(

I guess if it was simple, he would have already started producing them as a proper connector for ultra Satan..

I can see it just ending up being a normal 25 way connector at this rate.. At least a good thing there is we can route power to the connector as well..

And if someone really needs it, adaptors could be made, like in here: https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =80#p12455

Maybe not the prettiest thing on earth, but functional. For more common expansions like the UltraSatan, a direct attachable cable from DB25 to IDC20 could be a simple option. The included power suppy would be nice as well with the added benefit of not having two separate power supplies and therefore having two ground potentials.
