Phil, speaking of the wrong way around you should take a gander at cr16... believe you may have put it in backwards.

Working steadily away on my H4s when time allows.

It turns out I dont quite have enough parts to do all 3 but should easily get 2 done.

My second one is going to use SMT glue, mmu and a simm socket.

Top tip for everyone building their boards, it's almost essential you solder in the rs232 socket and cart port. I'd also recommend that you obtain a copy of Diagrom as this may kickstart your machine into life before the diag cart will.

@PhilC you're the master of component alchemy... Is there a chip that I can insert backwards or maybe perpendicular to that socket that will mimic a SN74LS07? Hopefully you will have something for me.

@PaulJ believe me, I was looking for one myself. Might be worth you chrvkomg the datasheet, as there are a number of ships in this series.

Plugging it in sideways does sound like an interesting solution though.
