I've spent some of my extra at-home time building a new version of the internal Gotek+UltraSatan setup, this time based on
BRAINCELL's Gotek mount, modified to make most of it flush with the outside of the case, and to add a rotary controller and an external μSD slot, which is connected to the second UltraSatan SD card slot via a
SD card extension adapter.
This is what the bracket looks like now...

And with the Gotek, rotary controller, OLED screen, and SD extender attached, and installed in the H4...

Then a little custom mounting bracket to enable affixing the UltraSatan to the stack...

And the whole stack assembled, with the SD card extender's ribbon cable tucked between the two (we'll see if this survives long term)...

Here's what it looks like from the outside, with the case put back on...

And HDDRIVER sees both internal and external SD cards...

Why printed in black? I plan eventually to paint the whole case black. Normally I wouldn't paint an Atari case, but since this is the H4, I think it's okay to do something a little unconventional.
One caveat is that since the extender remains plugged into the UltraSatan all the time, there doesn't seem to be any way to detect card changes in the external slot. Maybe there's a way to get HDDRIVER to fully reset the bus (a rescan doesn't seem to do it), so a power cycle is necessary when changing the card. It's a sacrifice I can live with to have an external SD card slot.
I'm not going to put these models up on Thingiverse because this one is so heavily specialised to my specific setup, but should anyone happen to want them, I've attached them to this post.
EDIT: Modified the US bracket a little bit to make it work also with a slightly older version of the board with different screwhole spacing.
