So once I get home this afternoon I'll print off the BoM and see what resistors, capacitors etc I have and get an order in for the stuff that's missing.

Updates here as I go.

Hoping to get this started over the weekend, had a steady stream of parts through the door this week.

I'll add pictures as I go, hopefully none of burned fingers.....

I haven't got further unfortunately, as I have had a very busy last 3 months of 2019 due to work changes.

I have a karate grading tomorrow to attempt my 1st Dan, which has required a lot of training and time.

I'm also waiting for the last few parts to arrive as well as my new desolder gun for pulling components from the latest donor machine.

However, once tomorrow is over, I will have until 2nd January as holiday before I'm back to work, so I'm expecting make some progress then.

Well, good news.

Firstly, the last batch of parts from Mouser (Sent from the US by FedEx, WHY???) are out for delivery right now.

Secondly, now I have the desolder gun I can easily raid the donor board for what I need.

Last, but by no means least, on Saturday I passed my 1st Dan grading at karate. :yay: :yay: :yay: It only took 12 years, I'm a patient fellow.

So fingers crossed I will get moving on this at last.

Cool - just in time for Christmas.

I was reading your post on the desolder gun. Might have to get myself one.

Thanks @Icky :)

BTW, you NEED a desolder gun. Best tool ever, so quick and easy to remove parts, and very kind to the PCB. Wish I'd had one a month ago when I was working on removing the parts from the Mega 4.

Also, Mouser, why are you doing this when I order from a UK website:

No wonder we're killing the planet with our emissions

@rubber_jonnie - I have noticed that with Mouser. Putting in an order can end up with parts coming from the States, from Europe or other places. Not very efficient or environmentally friendly as you mention.

@Icky Indeed. 5/10, could do better.

Interestingly there was also a label on the package with a German address on it, though it didn't seem to pass through there.

Package just arrived though :)
