Just the resistors left and mines up and running. Did I say I hate resistors?

Ya @PhilC doing the discrete resisters sucks, different values and lots of them. I believe I would much rather do SMT discrete's. Maybe on a coming reason say H5 we can do away with throw hole discrete's.

Resistors and caps and a few other discretes for me, oh and the Falcon DAC, but I saw the post about brightness and will do it later. SMT stuff was a bit of a fiddle but turned out quite nice.

Just don't know where some of my resistors have gone. Definitely ordered them and now seemingly lost. I'll find them when I order replacements no doubt.

Glad to have a big magnifying glass for those tiny buggers.

@rubber_jonnie The cat theory is most likely  Try looking under the bed ;) Or wherever your cats favorite hiding place is. Our takes stuff into the hallway, not a good hiding place  Dawn keeps finding her fone charger cable in the hallway lately.

@exxos Behind my parts drawers seems clear, but I need to have a good look under stuff. Ours comes into the bedroom in the night and strokes my laptop, and no thats not a euphemism. He's weird, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's selling electronic components on eBay!

Next session is fit what I do have and work out what's missing.

So more progress today,as below:

I've now worked through the parts list and marked what I have, whats already fitted to the board, and what I don't have.

Oddly it was only 33R resistors I'm missing, so I've installed what I have and will do a quick visit online now to order what I am missing in time for next weekend's build session.

It's pretty much outstanding just resistors and one or two other bits, I had a good run at the capacitors today.

On a side note, having a desolder gun has been amazing for recovering parts like the cartridge socket. I can't recommend one enough.

@rubber_jonnie , good to see your still plugging away at it. :)

That I am, and I have got all the missing parts on order now.

I also think I know why I was missing parts. The BoM seems to have been created in OpenOffice, it looks like the file format disagreed with O365 Excel.

End result, I installed OpenOffice and all is happy so I am fully caught up on the BoM.

Missing bits are all on order, so I just need another good session to get those installed and we should be good to go. Mostly just resistors to go now, and I do have some of the ones I need that I can install, just those missing 33r resistors that I'm waiting on. Hopefully I can get progressing in the next week.

At least you only have one value lect to worry about RJ :D

The discrete components are the ones I hate most.

You need a 2,2KOhm resistor as pullup on the BGACK as well. It's not part of the BOM since it's a fix. So easy to forget to order if you not have it at home already?
