@rubber_jonnie , I told @PhilC earlier that you were in training and was going to kick some serious butt building the H4! Don't let him try and pawn off his fupaw on you so he can expunge the fame that has come with his perpendicular IC installation technique.

But it genuinely fit better that way round.

Well, I really wish I'd fitted the LS11 when I was doing all the other SMT stuff, because with everything around it it wa completely hideous to fit to the point where I may have shouted at it once or twice.

The pins buzz out to where they should though and there's no shorts.

Bad news is that I still just get a white screen during boot, and when scoping out things like /HALT, /AS etc, I see the same as on my Mega 4, which also boots to a white screen.

/HALT is permanently low, apart from reset when it jumps high brifly, so either the CPU is getting garbage data and halting, or something else is causing the line to stay low, some sort of HW issue.

Onwards and upwards as they say, diag cart time, plus some of the suggestions @exxos made re the Mega4. I wan't to get both of them running, and it's soaking up a lot of my time, but hey ho, isn't that the pointof a hobby?
