Some of you noticed I suddenly dropped off a bit from Atari related stuff. Not due to lack of interest, but me and my wife went and bought a .. mansion. That, and the now three kids, needed a lot of attention. However, a big bonus of having done that is that I have a huge proper hobby room where I can finally create a really nice working environment.

This is my own concoction, a see-through ventilation hood sucking solder fumes outside. Variable fan speed, and the whole bottom edge of the hood is lined with cold bright LEDs creating an omnisource light - eliminating shadows when soldering. Also, the whole hood is mounted on a gas piston arm and can be raised, lowered and also moved over on top of the 3D printer - sucking out those fumes as well.

(Photo from before I began soldering tonight - all sockets are now done. Will hopefully finish the passives tomorrow)

Progressing slightly slower than I had hoped, but this weekend I go on four weeks of vacation so that should help.

What, if anything, need I build up in the circled section if I will _only_ use the HDMI Shifter board?

I don't think you will need anything "above" the shifter... Though note that you have also circled the audio amp circuit as well.. The guys are working on HDMI audio, but as always so many projects on the go and no time to do it..

@exxos - You are right you don't need anything there but advise building the audio circuit.

Thanks guys - will do then.

(If you see any weird parts decisions having been made, those are on purpose. I'm lucky to have a local physical electronics shop that stock _most_ stuff - and I preferably buy from them during Corona-times to do my part of making sure they survive .. )
