Gotcha. I didn't get a great night myself - nobody told the cat about the rules of daylight saving time.

We got a new cat about 2 months ago (ours died at New Year), and he keeps meowing in my face at half 5 in the morning. I feel your pain!

RJ, are they both exactly the same glitter ? I mean brand and date codes between the machine which behaves and the one which doesn't..

Exxos, there is only one test machine with a Glitter, one without, and it's been the same glitter all along. I could swap the glitter out with another, I'll check the numbers.

Also, if I can get another of your funky PLCC adapters working (I bought 4 that failed testing, fixed one, broke one (Don't ask!) :| so have 2 left!) I could try the Blitter in the other test board I've been using. Since they are different motherboards, it could be revealing, since one is a C103253 (Currently no Blitter) and the other a C070789 which has the Blitter

It also opens up the option of testing it with different Blitters in different boards, provided the chips I have are different dates.

As there is a lot of talk about HDMI again.. I will re-post this video from Icky showing Smonson's HDMI board running. This is a TOTAL replacement of the shifter, not just a scandoubler/converter for the RGB like people are currently using. So this is much higher quality as the shifter and HDMI video are all generated internally in the FPGA. I have the demo board as well and the quality of the video is amazing!

Yeah I've seen that in person thanks to Icky. Had a chance to get one but lacked the funds at the time.

I'll happily back Smonson when he builds the next version.

Of course, if you don't mind using the original hardware + SCART cable the Open Source Scan Converter does an excellent job and looks 99% as good, especially if you turn on the x2 sampling and the x2 or x4 upscaling. Still, it's not cheap itself at about £150.

Unless you see this in the flesh so to speak you can not appreciate the difference this makes. There is no interference, lines or other issue in the signal its absolutely rock solid and the only way forward. The video doesn't do it justice at all. I really need to dig out my old HDMI to PC recorder to get a better video as filming it via the phone doesn't do it justice. Also in hires mono there are no phase lines etc.
