Dumping ROM

Post by GianDO »

Hello everyone,
I would like to dump a ROM to a file for use in WINUAE of a SCSI expansion card. What software should I use ?

Thanks
G.

The Expansion_Boot_Roms.zip located in The Zone! on the EnglishAmigaBoard has all the below Roms, if it's there probably just easier to download that.

Unfortunately Hardital SuperBigBang is not on this list.

I think that the easiest way to dump a ROM is to pull it off the board, insert it into the EPROM programmer, and read it.

Agreed. Unless you know specifically which part of address space the rom is mapped its not going to be possible. There is no general tool for pulling roms for all hardware.

If you do know you can use monam2 from Devpac to save off areas of memory. Or write your own tool.

That's a shame. The Accelerators section of that zip does have a 'Hardtail TQM.bin' rom image, maybe that'll work given there was only a small number of accelerators from that brand?

Unfortunately no, it doesn't work. However I am in contact with Toni Wilen, the developer of WinUAE. I've put the matter to him and he seems interested. I await news ..
