If you have a scope and can find the spindle speed it maybe that the platter is not spinning in spec. Otherwise I would say it needs a data recovery pro with a working platform for the platers

Re: Trying to restore old HDD
So I have tired to restore folder by folder manually - I have ended up to restore one partition (10MB) 100% and second partition (70MB) about 60%.
Then I have tried to dump that disk using TSGUI.
First when I selected Full HDD Image it saves only 42MB RDF file which I can mount to WinUAE and I'm able to list files from it. No clue why is not dumping rest of drive when it looks like header is making full disk surface travel.
Then I have tried to dump each partition to HDF file. That will save both partitions with correct size but after mounting any of it to WinUAE it will report both as NonDOS when HEXedit shows first entry as DOS on both HDF files. Any clue how to get any of them to be recognized correctly by WinUAE?
