BodegaBay help?

Post by OHROM »

Hi guys,
So i picked up a Bodega bay for my A500, mainly for the extra Zorro II slots. but its not working i found some crap on the surface of the board which i used IPA to clean it. the board that connects the A500 to the Zorro II expansion slots i feel is the problem. It had a bunch of crap on some of the components, resistor R3 and the chip at U8 and then there is JMP1 bottom left corner it looks like it was a jumper but looks snapped off so not sure if it was like that from the factory or if i need to repair that and how do i determine what end should be jumpered?
My test was to install my *up MicroBotics memory board from my A2000 and when it boots it gives me a Tanish Screen? and wen i remove it it boots fine.
I know the board works as i tested it on my Z-500 expansion and it detects it? Any suggestions appreciated?

Thanks

Is it powered? Looking at white connector on the first photo i'm pretty sure You need a power supply for it..

Yes it has power, i have it out of the box so you can see the boards, the upper board has the white connectors those go to the power supply and the lower left zorro slot connects to the A500 expansion slot

Well i went through the Lower board pulled that nasty looking Resistor tested it was fine.

Pulled the orange cap tested fine.

Started doing continuity tests to make sure things were connecting as they should and as i was doing that, i notice there was a trace that seemed to cut/damaged.

Repaired the trace and now its reading my 8up MicroBotics memory board.

Now i can slap my ZZ9000 in it without having to worry :D
