SR98 trimmer pot

I've recapped my friend's SR98.

Now, the instructions say:
The trimmer pot may need to be adjusted back to 5.00volts on the 5V rail.
Since I don't have one, is there any safe way of doing this without using a load resistor?

I was thinking of turning the pot all the way to the left and then running the psu in the ST, turning up the pot until it hits 5.00V.
But what if the pot works exactly the other way around, I'd probably fry a complete set of STF remake parts :?

IIRC the PSU is going to be around 5.3V before you trim it down (assuming you did the resistor replacement). You can turn the pot counter-clockwise one hour and it should end up around 5.1V, after that you can start the ST and use your volt meter to get to 5.0.

Of course, this is assuming your SR98 behaves exactly like the three I've done this with, I take no responsibility. The best is to manufacture your own load (a light bulb will work) and do it properly.

Thanks, I just managed to adjust it to 5.0 using dummy load resistors. Decided to go the safest way and since all my lamps are LEDs
