exxos PSU 110V and 220V differences

Hi all,

I ordered a 110V power supply by mistake from the store and then ordered a 220V as this is what I required.

Looking at both power supplies, the only difference I can see between the two is on the 220V the purple and grey wires are shorted together - is this literally the only difference between the two?

These are the two I bought, one of each:-

Thanks,

There are some images of the primaries on these threads...

The wiring is also labeled on the transformer itself for 110V and 230V windings. Its the only difference between the PSU's.

Thanks, so the answer to my question is, both PSUs are identical (110V and 220V) with the exception of the purple and grey wire shorted on the 220V PSU?

On both, the writing on the windings is exactly the same.

110V
Brown & Grey connected together to mains
Blue & Purple connected together to mains

230V
BLUE,BROWN to mains
Grey & purple connected together.

If you already have a 230V one then you can just copy it to the 110V one anyway.

Thanks for the info.

From what I can make out, you do not have any specific information on installing the new RED PSU anywhere on the site but only for older PSU models.

For example, no information on where to connect the wires for the socket to connect the PSU to the motherboard. I see the attached picture but the RED PSU has two connector lines.

In what configuration do I connect the power cable connector to the RED PSU?

Happy to share pictures to help you with instructions once I've done, if you want them.

If instructions are already on the forum, I apologise, but from what I can make out, there are no detailed, specific instructions for the RED PSU of which I now have two I am trying to wire up. Thanks.

Yeah your right there doesn't seem to be a proper image.. At some point I put more holes in the PCB...I probably never soldered a connector to the new one, so the image never got done..

There is this one http://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last/p ... alcpsu.jpg

Incidentally the new holes are actually identical to the old power supply, only there is 2 rows of pins instead of the one row as originally done.

But yeah, if you can take a image then I can put it on my site.

This may help anyway...

Thanks - please use the attached pictures with my pleasure, as long as the banner is left on the picture.

I've removed most of the images as they were just general images and not really showing anything, plus images of TOS etc are not relating to the thread.. Thanks.
