Falcon PSU connector

Post by exxos »

These are out of stock now. I think I got 100 made and they all sold. They were made in the UK and wasn't cheap. Problem is they really hiked the price on them , basically making them to expensive to buy.

I got a good deal in China, but MOQ is 1000 :( I got the ST PSU connectors made and had to get 1000 of them, but the price was lower. I made a guess that in a few years time I would get my money back on them.

With the falcon ones being more expensive, and selling generally half the rate of the ST ones, I can really justify spending the money on them as I don't think I would ever sell enough to break even. They are already pretty expensive in my store. Even if I double the price of them, it will still take years to get my money back. Plus almost nobody would likely pay a higher , I probably wouldn't.

So I think people will just have to make their own cables or reuse the old one and extended it.

The only other option I can think of is to design a PCB to act as a wire extender instead.

I ordered my connectors and crimps from https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232550474251, but I presume it's the wire and the assembly that's the PITA.

Yep. It is not obtaining the part which is the problem, it is the enormous amount of time cutting cables, stripping cables measuring them, Twisting and tin plating the ends, crimping them etc, takes a lot longer than you think. Plus with my RSI .. just nope.
