Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

The sockets have arrived form Exxos (I'm always amazed how waterproof the packages are. Many rolls of tape died to get the packages to you.)
I've just paid the import duty on the PCBs. After shipping and duty they're working out at about £20 each. (Don't worry @PhilC the ones I'll send you will be free.)

Yeah, When I am at my girlfriends and shes packing.. the noise of the tape kills my ears.. so "weekend packages" now have darker tape, I paid more for "silent tape" it does exist, and is awesomestephen_usher wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 11:55 am The sockets have arrived form Exxos (I'm always amazed how waterproof the packages are. Hmmm... Hit a snag, the header pins I bought won't fit into the turned pin 64 way sockets from Exxos. The corners of the square pins foul the sides.
What pins do people usually use to fit turned pin sockets?
The alternative would be to file down every pin manually.

Re: TF536 + 68000 relocator and ROM board project.
Ah...
Could be tricky as they add a couple of mm height and I need to make this as low profile as possible.
With the normal header pins I was going to solder them with the plastic on the upper surface and the long end going through the board. This would make the pins the requisite 3mm long underneath the board, with the board being flat against the top of the socket. Hmmm....

samtech make low profile pins, but they are like £1 per 24 pins strip..

OK, I've ordered some of your pin strips. If they're the same ones PhilC used on the TF536 the thin pins will be long enough going through thePCB and soldered. Just less than 3mm, which is still similar enough to normal IC pins that it should be fine in the socket.
