Seems sound is common fault. As said before, need to do sound test on diag-cart and check out the YM chip outputs for starters...

Actually, sound is soldering bodge no.3, if I'd only connected it to the right pin on the plug

Just need to figure out the video on an LCD monitor. Am moving more stuff to get the STF plugged into another monitor.
