DMA HEADER REV H1

Post by exxos »

Added the internal DMA header.. As to if Atari's pin numbering matches the numbering in my schematic is another matter! Will try and verify on a real MEGA ST later to make sure it the pinout matches.

I've also noticed a typo, that FDCS on the DMA port should have been HDCS! So I have updated the names on this schematic also.

Great addition to the board. Will come in useful.

Care may need to be taken on orientation as existing header boards go off in certain directions. Don’t want the header making the existing DMA boards orientate out side of the MB :).

Thanks exxos

I don't even know of any boards which even use the connector. Other than ultrasatan, but thats likely going to be a cable. I'm assuming US uses the same pinout, Jookie never got back to me with the pinout :(

As you say the ultrasatan does but even that uses an adaptor board.

I think there are details on lothareks site. Would find it but am on the train right now.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

ah no worries, It would be cool if could get internal ultrasatan to fit with a adapter pcb, header needs to be in the exact right place though..

I'm out all day today, so no time for Atari today :(

Can I ask why the internal header has more pins? My SatanDisk and MicroCosmos both only have 20 pin IDC connectors and an external power connector. I am unsure how I would connect these to this header?

I copied the MEGA ST header. If US isn't using the standard pinout, then it will need a adapter board.

Or I could add a special port, it depends how much room is left on the MB after all other mods are done. I really want US to plug in without any "fuss".

Gigafile has an internal pcb to connect to the header. Will find a picture.

Oh no, no Atari for Exxos today.

US schematics and Eagle files are available at Jookie's site: http://joo.kie.sk/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/us_hw.zip

It is not the same pinout as the internal MEGA connector. Lotharek sells an adapter: https://lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=50

Whilst I do not have an UltraSatan(US) (a friend has one), the schematics show that it also has a 20 pin IDC connector and a micro USB for power. From what I have and the schematic on the US, all have the same 20 pin IDC connector.
