GLUE pin 34. It comes from 8MHz clock pin on the 68000 ( pin 15) .

Well, yes, when doing the doubleST I do get this effect and use a small AUTO program to "clear" the Shifter (same as fullscreen demos do) which seems to work pretty well.

I'll need to look into my test code and see if it's in a state where I can attach the program here (and also if it works in mono, not sure).

Sorry for the questions,as you know my electronics knowledge is still slowly building, but where is the other end of the cap supposed to go? GND? or elsewhere?

Did you have chance to try this out yet ?

Sadly not, work has been pretty busy this week, and I've had other stuff I had to get on with. This weekend isn't looking good either. The crap won't take itself to the dump, nor will the lawn mow itself :(

As for Sunday, well it's Mothers ay and I'm cooking!

I did test on a non blittered machine and it was super stable at low & med res, but had the funny step on the LHS in hi res, which I posted about. I did try running my fingers along the pins and it made no difference, but need to get back to the blitter machine and do the test you indicated.

Will also try with a brand new PSU (Meanwell) that I know will be more than up to the job.

Well, I went up to the workshop tonight with all good intentions to test the DVI out board on some other machines. I hit problems though, because both of my other STFMs with Blitters have soldered in Shifters, so both were a bust.

Overall, with the time taken to disassemble/reassemble both machines, plus testing on the original boards (everything was much the same on the two other boards, One Blittered one not), I ran out of time.

The Blittered machine gave the same flicking as I swept across the menus with it on, and working fine with the Blitter off. The Non Blittered board was nice and stable as before.

So basically no further forward, but at least I know the two bare boards I have are really the only two I can test on.

So next steps will be to try the video sync line connected, and also the cap to the Glue pin 34 as we discussed. I've also just got a brand new Meanwell PSU, so although I have been using a recapped unit I'll see if a nice new clean power supply will help matters.

:(

Thanks for taking the time to test it out! If I understand, does that mean that you've seen that black-screen-when-opening-the-menu problem on two different machines with blitters?

No, just the one machine with a Blitter has the problem (The same one as before), I don't have any other Blittered machines I can test on because they have soldered in Shifters. Sorry if that wasn't clear, I'm half asleep!
