Appreciate the offer, I have just found one with a needle, though it has silver conductive paint in it atm, which I am kind of reluctant to just throw away. Also, I'd be concerned that I hadn't got all the paint remains out and it had contaminated the paste.

I'll have a delve online, see what I can get, and I'll let you know if I'm struggling to find any. As long as I can get a syringe, the needle I have should be ok.

Just out of curiosity, what diameter needle are you using?

Probably about 0.75mm, so it's a pain to use but works well nonetheless.

Cool, I did watch a similar video. I have syringes on the way for the paste, and I am confident that I can do it without burning the board at least! The most difficult part is going to be alignment of the chips I think. I will think about making a jig, perhaps 3d printed.

Ok, so I have everything I need now, and the board will now not work with its original CPU!

PAK works though, so fingers crossed I can start to add in the new RAM and at least test with the PAK installed rather then the 68K.

Why are these things never easy!

Right, finally the boards up and running with a normal CPU, so this job is back on, hopefully I can get on it over the weekend since it's a bank holiday.

Weirdly it now works with a CPU from a CO70789 board that it didn't work with before. All these CPU shenanigans are just insane.

I know we've had these conversations a few times now, but I am quite honestly surprised that any of your boosters have worked under these conditions. Frankly you're a miracle worker.

Ok, so I went to try and have a go at this over the weekend, and am no further ahead!!

I think the solder paste I have is a bit too thick for the bore of needle I'm using. Either that or the small syringe I have just can't apply enough pressure to the paste.

Having a rethink on how I'm going to do this now, as it really shouldn't be this hard to do!!

Yeah I've had the problem, it is hard to get the solder paste moving. I never seal the tube, so always have to clear the old harder stuff out first.
