Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
Re: Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
Yes I believe it will but will leave exxos to confirm the part no.s for you.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
Revision of the board doesn't matter, its the 70789 part which is important.
Correct.

Re: Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
If your replacing 2 chip TOS with the dualtos board, then its pretty much plug and play.

Re: Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
It allows you to change the TOS version with the reset switch instead of jumpers.. Though the rest circuit in the ST isn't very stable and needs fixing.. so I would just start out using jumpers initially.

Re: Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
well, i've ran into an issue.
I can't put the case back on
It's too high for the STFM case and I'm not sure what to to

Re: Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
You mean the metal shielding ? If your wanting to put it back you may have to either cut a hole in it, or just leave it off, or solder the dulatos PCB in the motherboard which is what I recommend doing anyway.
EDIT: I actually thought it would fit under the shielding anyway, but the board has only really just gone into production and I don't know if anyone has even tried fitting it under the shielding yet. Maybe you can post a image of the problem ?

Re: Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
Basically it touches the last strip of pins on the top where it slats down just by the board fold.
A bit of persuasion with the hammer and some needle nose pliers has alleviated it a bit, so it will sit on it without touching the pins.
Without me doing this it would not fit, zero clearance completely and would press really hard against the top of the shielding. It looks a bit jank, but, it fits on now.

Re: Maximum 520STfm TOS version Etc
Yeah height is a issue because of the pins like you say. Hacking of some kind is pretty much normal with these machines. Though generally I suggest soldering the boards in as the ST sockets are 30 years old and not great these days. There wouldn't be a issue with height then.AtariFox wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 9:57 pm Basically it touches the last strip of pins on the top where it slats down just by the board fold.
