I'm running YAART now from a floppy disk. It's at pass 2. Test #3 and so far no errors.exxos wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 3:57 pm YAART https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... ?f=25&t=28

You'll need to leave the machine running for a long time, as you said before it crashes after it has been on for a long time, so you need to replicate this by just running the RAM test program. I would think you would need to run it for 12 hours.Cosmic Puppet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 9:48 pm I'm running YAART now from a floppy disk. It's at pass 2. Test #3 and so far no errors.

I live in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Sounds like I need someone who can look at the whole system.

So what voltage are you running that PSU on then 230V UK ?Cosmic Puppet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 9:56 pm I live in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Sounds like I need someone who can look at the whole system.

Re: Atari still crashing after power supply recap.
That's seems to have changed. Notator now crashes upon loading. Music Mouse works, which is why I wondered about the Dongle as it's the thing that's different and was crashing on the machine I gave up which had previously run for 14 years. I thought getting a new machine would help. It looks awesome, but...exxos wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 9:50 pmYou'll need to leave the machine running for a long time, as you said before it crashes after it has been on for a long time, so you need to replicate this by just running the RAM test program. Re: Atari still crashing after power supply recap.
Running it through a stepdown transformer which has 2 American 110V outputs. My machine would be fine if I didn't need Notator. Floppy drive works. Ultrasatan works. All 14 drives working. Muh.exxos wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 9:59 pmSo what voltage are you running that PSU on then 230V UK ?Cosmic Puppet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 9:56 pm I live in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Re: Atari still crashing after power supply recap.
I really would suggest getting a proper UK PSU, even a original, but get it recapped properly at least.Cosmic Puppet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 10:08 pm Running it through a stepdown transformer which has 2 American 110V outputs. When you have run YAART for 12 hours and confirm its stable (don't run for less time!) Then run for another 12 hours with Notator plugged in and see what happens.

Re: Atari still crashing after power supply recap.
Wish I knew this when I sold my old UK machine. Thanks, will do. I see your RAM upgrade would involve cutting the shielding on my board. I would like to try and work with the Marpet if possible. I'm also thinking of getting my hands on another Notator Dongle. Would a faulty dongle definitely show up on this test?exxos wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 10:15 pmI really would suggest getting a proper UK PSU, even a original, but get it recapped properly at least.Cosmic Puppet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 10:08 pm Running it through a stepdown transformer which has 2 American 110V outputs. Re: Atari still crashing after power supply recap.
It's the loading on the dongle on the bus which is why the test is being done. You first prove your machine is stable without the dongle, then try with the dongle to see if RAM becomes unstable.Cosmic Puppet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 10:22 pm Would a faulty dongle definitely show up on this test?

Okay thanks. Gonna leave it on while I sleep so I can have both 12 hour tests done by tomorrow night.exxos wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 10:29 pmIt's the loading on the dongle on the bus which is why the test is being done.
