cosmosex shared drive not working

I had this all setup last year, but connecting it back up... nope..

The shared drive is on my PC, and //CHRIS//SHAREFOLDER does bring up the folder on my PC.. but //192.168.0.2/SHAREFOLDER doesn't ? The IP address if correct for my PC.. but I assume this is why cosmo is failing to access the folder..

..anyone any ideas what's going on ?

I had the same problem, and I think it may have been after an update to the latest firmware. Under disk shares I changed one of the options (I don't remember which) that chnaged the type of file sharing in use and I was able to connect to my share again.

I'll see if I can find out which option it was.

I had the same problem, but I am running a FreeNAS server at home which is configured as a Samba4 domain controller for authentication. In my past situation (Samba3 server) I could login with the CosmosEX and access my shares. Now, with Samba4 the authentication protocols have changed and older protocols are not supported anymore....., resulting in not being able to access my shares. I had to make a domain policy, in which I enabled those older protocols, and now it's working again...

Sooo. next time (now) I plug in cosmosex it wont find there shared drive again

I've rebooted my PC serveral times, I did notice my firewall was blocking it, now fixed.. share drive showing in windows networking. Router showing cosmo connected.. and yet drive N: (the ST share drive) just shows up MOUNT.ERR

been messing with this for the past hour, and somehow thinking just going to back to floppies be far easier/quicker

Since I got rid of the older version of SMB on my windows machines it no likely the shares, but annoyingly still won't connect even on my old Readynas that uses the old version.

I'm updating the firmware on the ST, see what happens.. though it got the latest update, so its not like its a network error, just cosmo refuses to "see" the shared drive for some reason

I transfer with Net USB and UIP Tool and then use Megafile 44/SyQuest 44 drives to move stuff around to the other 7 machines. I never got around to setting up the shared drive on the CosmosEX (I have an original ACSI version).

I should give it a try one of these days. I have two more of the 3.0 version that has yet to be delivered (after 1 year and 4 months of waiting).
