Hello from the Netherlands..

Post by redhawk668 »

Hello there,

I’ve became a momber of this forum some time ago. I think it is time that I introduce myself. Ok, let’s go... Well, my first steps in the world of IT was with a Sinclair ZX81, then the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. From that I went to the Atari 8 Bit, starting with an Atari 800XL with a 1050 drive, then a 130 XE with a XF551 drive. When I saw an Amiga 1000 for the first time I was blown away, only this machine was too expensive so we bought a 520 STM with floppydrive instead, I really liked that machine and soon the 520 STM was sold and we got two 1040 STFM’s, one for me and one for my dad. When the STE was released, I sold my 1040 STFM and got an STE. In 1994 I went to the PC because I needed one for my education at the time. In that time I sold all my Atari stuff.

Fast forward to present time, I now own 4 Atari ST machines, one STE with a CosmosEx device, one 520 STFM, which has been upgraded with a Blitter and 4 mb (SMD soldering). This machine also has a CosmosEx. One STFM with Exxos 4 mb expansion and a STF with Gotek. Next to this, I own some Amiga’s, two 500’s (one will receive a TF530) and a 1200, Atari 8 bit stuff. One 600 XL, modified with Ultimate 1 mb, a 130XE, which I upgraded to 320 kb and a totally stock Atari 800XL.

Rest of my retro stuff, ZX Spectrum +, ZX Spectrum (this was a 16 K model, which has been upgraded to 48 K by me), both of them are refurbished by me. And three self built clones.

Yes, I am a retro nut. I taught myself how to solder building those ZX Spectrum clones and at the moment I am starting with SMD soldering. The TF530 is a great project to learn SMD soldering. My 520STFM is a late revision which is SMD, my dad did the 4 mb upgrade and I did the Blitter upgrade. First SMD project I did myself. Soldering a PLCC chip, at first not succesfully, but after resoldering and the use of lots of flux it has been a succes and the machine is still working with Blitter.

Well, that’s pretty much my introduction.
My collection: 1040 STE, TOS 2.06, 4 mb, CosmosEx - 520 STFM, TOS 1.04, 4 mb, Blitter, CosmosEx - 520 STFM, TOS 1.04, 4 mb - 1040 STF, TOS 1.04, 1 mb, Gotek - Amiga 1200 with Blizzard 1220/4 - Amiga 500 + ACA500 - Amiga 500 + TF530, 1 mb chipram hack.

Atari 8 bit: 800XLF, stock - 600XL, Ultimate 1 mb, Sophia RGB - 130XE, 320 kb, Sophia RGB

Sinclair stuff: 3x Spectrum 48KB, Clones: Harlequin, JS128, Nuvo128 and Issue3B replica.

Ultimate64, a few C64 breadbins and Pi1541 for storage.

Just because a lot of people agree on something, doesn't make it a fact. ~exxos ~
People should find solutions to problems, not find problems with solutions.
