Ram choices for TF536

Post by PhilC »

I thought I would start a topic where we can share details of working and non-working ram chips.

Firstly, for a 64mb version of the card, I have had great success with the recommended Micron chips but have just been testing the ISSI IS42S16160G-7TLI the first board has been running well for a couple of hours so far.

For the 128mb version (no firmware support just yet but it will come hopefully) I plan to test the ISSI IS42S16320D-7TLI with the next TF536 I build.

I'll edit this first post with known tested chips and the results.

Tested chips for 64mb version.
Micron MT48LC16M16A2P-6A:G Original specified ram, works well.
ISSI IS42S16160G-7TLI Works on test board, test duration 6 hours.
Samsung K4S561632J-UC75 Working fine.
micron 48lc16m16a2-75 Tested by @Justme14 and @PaulJ_2.0

Tested chips for 128mb version.
Alliance Memory AS4C32M16SA-7TCN Tested working to 64mb
ISSI IS42S16320D-7TLI tested to 64mb
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

FAIR WARNING:
Seems that Samsung RAM isn't working with latest RC2 Firmware! Card hangs in reboot loop after FW is updated. So can't recommend this RAM to be used atm...
Don't know about ISSI, hope guy's used this type of ram will report here soon..

Tested on A2000 with several TF536 cards - no joy, hence this warning :geek:
