I'm not a fan of inverted colours  Thats leaving the classic look behind :P

Could always just forget the logo, thats a TOS206 thing anyway. Could just have TOS105 in big letters at the top, then normal text under it. I guess this really is trying to do final polishing before main work is completed. So IMHO, having some text on screen on boot is just fine on its own.

There it is, the voice of reason that no one wanted to hear ;) But yeah, you are right, this really is not important, and I'll STFU now :-P

But yeah, its topic drifted a bit as thread as well, was mainly about languages.

It was based on " I never liked the black text on white screen thing... could this be changed easily for white (or grey) text on black background? I know this looks like DOS...."
It's easy to make it inverted while logo is displayed, without swapping palette. Actually, I need always to invert all it in Paint Shop Pro to get proper colors on Atari. 1 step less :D

Indeed, should turn back to languages, since there are some things still not clarified. I think that I will go on German l. as next, since it should be most used after English one.

So by the sounds of it there are other changes other than just the RSC files :(

I don't know if you will be better looking at this from a patching point of view.. Could the changes you make be done automatically in a special patcher program to other TOS104 language versions ?

I will not bother with some patchers when I have disassembled ASM source of 1.04. Just looked German v. - it has extra code starting at same loc. as Spanish, and it must be something for entering special characters when Alt is held down. 90 bytes plus, so I need only to disasm that part and add it to UK source code as conditional lines, and need to correct labels there. Not too much work, and after that it will be very simple to make final code for different languages by just changing language variable. German is good for me, since I understand it.
In Spanish there is little more extra code - 134 bytes, still short.
It exists in Win too, btw. In Hungarian you can enter @ only by using Alt key as secondary shift key- there is no way to enter it with shift because layout is different - mostly because all this languages have more regular letters than English, so there is less space for special characters like [ \ to be entered without shift - they go with shift or with Alt .

I have to investigate the use of the Alt key, long time since I typed something on the Atari, I didn't remember anything about that now...

On other things...

If I have an AUTO folder on the floppy with your driver, then the Free RAM and Memboot is gone...

Much less important...

You'll have to make your driver detect your TOS.

Regards.

Sorry to disturb you about the Logo, whatever you choose will be fine.

I need to say again, this are just early test versions, to clarify some things. I'm still in grey area with many things.
Made progress about entering characters with Alt key. Here is updated Spanish v. :
14ES2.ZIP
(105.81 KiB) Downloaded 14 times
Note: do not test anything else except keyboard input with some editor SW . This should be fine with Alt key shift ( characters like \/ [] ) . Check are all characters proper ones, as is in original Esp. TOS .

Surely my driver did not recognize TOS v. 'properly' - I did not change it in TOS header at all from 1.04 :D
Desktop Info RAM values work only with clean boot correctly in first test V. In second even then not

Sorry, not complaining about anything.
Just saying what I encounter.
Let's try this new version.
