That's interesting. The ST booting means everything's fine that end. I can't see any more stats on the signal I get but it being the expected Hz.

I removed the Vsync wire and the led still stays solid red...

The monitor doesn't show anything else than that. So it seems 2 monitors don't work with it for some reason :(

I'm assuming Smonson did program it before it was sent...

Umm. There are two LEDs. One towards the DVI connector - and it's very bright. Then there's another on the side, quite dim.

Is the one towards the DVI connector really bright red without VSYNC? That should be pretty impossible AFAIK. I'll post this and then test on mine

edit: test later, forgot I had connected up the original Shifter atm

I only see one LED to the right middle of the board.. don't see any others.. at least not lite up...

OK - then the FPGA doesn't seem to be executing any code and there's no video out. The dim red light on the right middle only means it gets 5V through the Shifter socket.

(Lack of VSYNC would cause that LED to not light up I believe)

I tested it before sending, but anything can happen with international mail... Just to check, where is the other end of the vsync wire connected?

It definitely seems like vsync is the problem here.

Yep. There are 3 leds back there, and they correspond to 50, 60, and 71.2Hz being detected. So if vsync isn't working none of them will illuminate. The 5v power LED is always on though.

I soldered it to pin 4 of the RF chip.. that is Vsync according to the diagrams..

That's the same signal that comes out of the glue right?

Well. That's a bit of a let-down that it's not syncing.

AS far as I know, its just called VSYNC..

Maybe you could try pin 4 as well and see if that gives any clues ?
