Pin 8 would simply be left not connected (its gnd), but it picks up gnd from pin 1 anyway, so the connector would still plug right in anyway..

And I finally join the select few with a board that's ready to go.
Got bored of soldering, so will put the other ports in once we get the whole thing up and running.
So, now it's down to who dares to go first?
